Le Temps d'une Pinte — Beer, coffee and good food ... in casual mode May, 24th 2018

Whether you're looking for a place to have a drink with your first date or simply to enjoy a good meal surrounded by your friends, I've found the perfect place for you in Trois-Rivières.

My dinner at Le Temps d'une Pinte restaurant made me discover that this place is much more than a microbrewery. The working cooperative brings together brewers, roasters and bistronomers. In addition to brewing their own beers, they also kept the coffee machines of the roaster, the former burnery that once occupied the premises. Le Temps d'une Pinte also offers a delicious menu and an À la carte menu that introduces you to traditional dishes reinvented and inspired from around the world. Moreover, the cooperative produces its own honey from the hives that are installed on the roof of the building. This honey is also used in some of their recipes. Hard to be more local than that.

Alex Dorval, Marketing Director, was my guide for my visit. The goal of the cooperative is to give beer back its nobility, in a spirit of community. Mr. Dorval explained to me the different manufacturing processes of the many products made on site. His passion for his work is reflected in his explanations: according to him, the attention to detail makes it possible to improve the experience. Very involved at the social level, the microbrewery participates in various events in Trois-Rivières, be it with its coffee or beers. All year long, several cultural events take place: among others things, a Swing evening organized by the dance school Très Swing takes place on the 2nd floor of the establishment every Wednesday.

During my evening, I had the chance to taste, as a starter, the delectable Malakoff, a typical Swiss cheese donut. As a main course, I tried the delicious Best Ribs plate, with its potato salad accompaniment - an interesting alternative to traditional French fries.

As for beer, the great variety allows everyone to find his or her beer of choice. The beers of the moment give way to others beers over time, but classics like the Torréfacteur are present from the beginning. I found my brew with La Rosie, a very good fruity beer with wild fruit and passion fruit, even if I'm not normally a beer lover.

Interestingly enough, if you are planning a meal in a "bring your own wine" restaurant, but you prefer beer, you can have the beer of your choice canned to go. This is done directly in front of your eyes thanks to their "beer wrapper". The beers will keep for about 48 hours  - you can then enjoy your beer at the restaurant, or at home!

It's an industrial decor where craft products are featured waiting for you at Le Temps d'une Pinte. Do not hesitate to take out your favourite old jeans to come and visit the place : we keep it relaxed over here!
